The Pope Gets It. Executives Don't. Mindboggling or Should that be Mind Blogging

I absolutely love this.  I just read a great article on how the Pope is telling his priests around the world to go forth and blog....become part of the contemporary generation and use social media to reach the masses with the messages from God.  Not only that, the Vatican has launched its own channel on You Tube.  So cool.  Way to go Pope.

People from all walks of life including religions recognize that they can build credibility, respect, and recognition by building a community through blogging.  But a day doesn't go by that I don't talk to a senior level executive who just doesn't get it.

Tragically they are trapped.  They just can't come to grips with the necessity of blogging, video captures for You Tube, and leveraging the power of social media (and that is not just Linkedin), for their own professional growth.  Further, they don't understand the concept of "organic growth" and how that concept can be used to drive the growth of any business.

Very few executives understand the concepts of SEO, SEM, and Serps.  Probably 75% of the senior executives that I speak with each day don't understand those acronyms.  BTW, they stand for Search Engine Optimization, Search Engine Marketing, and Search Engine Results Pages.

If you are reading this, and you are a senior level executive, and if you don't understand these concepts, then you need to take whatever steps are necessary to learn what they are and how to implement them.  They are part of the new business paradigm and you need to know how to use them for yourself and for the companies you may represent.  Take classes, attend webinars, go to conferences, talk to the 16 year old next door, but learn it or you will become a dinosaur!!!  If you don't know where to begin, drop me an email and we will show you how.
